Dr. Mithal's academic journey is equally impressive, culminating in his D.M. (Endocrinology) from AIIMS, New Delhi, in 1987, where he was the first to achieve this distinction. His M.B.B.S. and M.D. degrees were obtained from Kanpur University. His contributions extend beyond clinical practice; in 2019, he was nominated to the Governing Council of the National Health Authority, underscoring his influence on national health policies. He also holds the honorary position of President, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Gorakhpur.
